Mullinavat and Danesfort met in the final of the U12 Phil Cushen Memorial Tournament last Saturday in Inistioge at 6pm. The final was the culmination of a tournament involving eight clubs which was ongoing since April. A very large crowd witnessed a nail biting game of fantastic quality which swung one way then the other. Danesfort went on to win on a scoreline of 3-8 to 2-17 due in no small part to their goalkeeper who made a number of great saves. Fiona McDonald Fennelly, a relative of Phil Cushen was on hand to present the cup to the winning captain. Phil's wife Barbara was also in attendance at the final.
